We’re probably going to be leaving this site where it stands now as testament to what is working for us, since the hottest passive income generator is clearly Kindle. Our sales are ramping up nicely and fat checks arrive every month now. Someone recently told me Amazon are selling a million Kindles a month. Whether that is true or not, the income we see from our Kindle sales is definitely booming so something’s going on, that’s for sure. And not only that, even our CreateSpace print-on-demand sales are rising and Kindle is a great platform from which to test the market and see which books are worth also releasing as paperbacks.

I mentioned previously about PLR, this is fine if you are just starting to get a feel for authoring but you must adhere to total originality in your approach, hack the content away, make it different, give it a twist and a new cover. Ironically, with this kind of effort you may as well do your own original stuff anyway and steer off PLR altogether. It’s easy to do, your life is amazing and unique in the universe, so make it stand out with all your experiences and knowledge and don’t be like everyone else.

The Kindle Revolutions is helping many achieve their passive income goals.

Now it’s back to publishing for us, since even WP affiliate sites are going the way of the dinosaur (you can partially blame the Google unwieldy algorithm sabers for that in that their quest for quality is somewhat skewed and innocents get knifed in the process while big money players get top listing) in favor of giant publishing portals such as Amazon who *want* you to make money with them, since they make make more too!

Well it’s time for us to reveal what we have been doing these last couple of months. It’s not affiliate sales, it’s not webinars nor is it video uploads (though it can help if you wanted it to), it’s not the gui-changing security-risk Faecebook or Shitter (excuse the colloquial joke there) and it’s not feeding the Google blog mouth that has the great gaping ass where everything falls into Sheol.

No, it’s Kindle.

I put up 11 books in a just a few weeks on Amazon’s Kindle platform and am already getting hundreds of dollars in sales per month. I know some of you will think, ‘Omg, that’s good but it ain’t much’. Well this is only the tip of the iceberg. While I am busting my gut working in a (very well paid) job right now, I do not plan to do so by next year. I have now found a way to accelerate Kindle sales and do it all the legitimate way. I could create my books a lot faster than I do, but I want to create quality so I get repeat customers for books having similar subject matter.

PLR (Private Label Rights) works well, but many people make the confoundedly asinine mistake of simply copying the material and churning it onto Amazon with lousy replicated covers, even those ‘Cover Action Pro’ shots which don’t work for Kindle sales pages and only reflect the obvious stupidity of the uploader.

Amazon is going to crack down on those guys pretty soon.

That is why I am taking this slowly; writing my own stuff and modifying PLR where I see it can sell; customizing it for my own purposes to suit my target audience. Picking the right titles is crucial to selling; and researching the needs and wants of the ‘bilious public’ (as some have put it) has great rewards, in tandem with studying current events and societal trends that make people want to buy things, even in an economic quagmire.

So, one needs the right way to prepare Kindle books and do a good job at it – and it’s really quite simple. Since I have been busy doing these books, I haven’t had time to prepare my own ‘how to’ yet, but I have came across a method by another best-selling Kindle author who is making things happen for new writers. Everyone has a book in them, and many more have more than just one book.

If you are serious about making extra money, passively (since once it’s up there you sit back and relax) then this could be the product for you, the bookpumper ‘Kindle Revolutions’. This is a good start to get your feet wet in the revolution of ebooks that is sweeping the world for portable devices; pads and phones.

There is no SEO to do (Amazon does it all for you).

There is no blog post to slave to.

Sell as many titles as you want, under any pseudonym you like.

No expensive niche website tools to buy; you get your own sales page on Amazon.

Your title often appears at top page ranking Google searches.

Amazon affiliates can find your book and promote it.

Write your book in Word, convert to Kindle using the free tool downloaded from Amazon and you’re selling straight away.

One of my titles have sold 44 copies in this month alone!

September 2011 Amazon Kindle sales report showing some of my 11 books (US sales)

While I have done okay in affiliate sales, this Kindle stuff by far outstrips anything for massive potential. Who wants to set up affiliate sites for other people’s products and then have to update it just to satisfy the Magisterium of Google Lords and Masters? (Where their search results could be skewed anyway -and that’s not me saying this, it’s from the Business section of our local Herald).

The above image is just for the US. Royalty payments are 70% for most of my books, not a paltry 10% like a selective stuffy traditional publisher would pay. When you sign up for Kindle publishing, you also get to sell your books in Europe and the UK. Experiment on what sells; some titles may get you one sale a month, others 5 or more. Three other books of mine have sold around 13 copies each in September. Kindle Revolutions shows you simple tactics to get the attention of readers to your titles and with that high-selling book I now have on Amazon, I am learning about what people want and I will cater for those needs with more targeted books.

So have a look at Kindle Revolutions and get that passive income working for you the way it is meant to, without the effort that other Internet Marketing methods constantly call your attention to.

We’ve been working on other stuff of late too, since many are crowding the affiliate scene and fighting like rats to get their SEO up front to appease the Google Lords and Masters of (their) ‘Honesty’.

What we’re working on I will let you know about in a future post but we want to be absolutely positive it works for us as it could for you. No point flogging a dead horse like many many others are doing out there now in their internet marketing endeavors.

What I can say is that it doesn’t involve SEO, the constant slavery (as some put it) of having to do a fresh blog post just to stay above the Google water line, nor does it have to do with any serious coding or sucking up to the supposed ‘gurus’, many of whom just want to rip you off anyway (we won’t mention names, you can probably guess who they are by doing your own background checks).

And that’s one thing you can do for now; serious background searches on anyone you are considering to ally with or part your money to.

In this present economic hurricane, you must be more vigilant than ever.

The more people I come across who have tried and failed in Internet Marketing the more I feel that the IM bloat has been puffed up by too many scammers who are choking their customers in their own flatulence.

Every day I see some new ‘get rich quick’ scheme, most of which have sales pages full of so much fluff you could wipe your ass with their gleaming words. But gleaming words often turn into gleaming turds; the substance is rarely there. Sure, some folk offer free stuff to squeeze page you in to getting their auto-responders and buy their sub-sequential offers, yet the paid result is rarely satisfactory.

ClickBank and Warrior Forum downers

ClickBank have one of the highest money-back requests. The Big Suck is mostly poorly-explained information and prodding the poor wannabe for more dollars to get some system up and running, after stating on several sales paragraphs that ‘you don’t have to spend a dime’ or words to that effect. Having tried valiantly many wind up only making their Internet Masters more money, while they lose.

Be it the Warrior’s Forum (often referred to as the “Worrier’s Forum’ as nervous wannabes tremble their lips at the thought of losing more money if they buy another let down) or some other forum on sucking money from people, it seems these days that Internet Marketing is about… ahem, Internet Marketing.

Do your scam background checks

If you don’t already know, the best thing to do if suspicious about a sales offer is to type in the name or website of the offer and follow your search term with ‘scam’. Of course this is a minefield, side-stepping the dung of some robot golem who may be raising the scam flag but later expounding the virtue of said ‘offer’, simply because he or she is an affiliate.

While the ‘Affiliate Pyramid’ is often the cry of those who have failed, bottom line is: you CAN make money with affiliate marketing, you just have to go BIG TIME to do it. The Big Solution is to invest your time and confidence and indeed some money to get something up and running to return you something. Be it e-books or physical products, be passionate about what you are promoting, add some reviews, background info, your personal touch or whatever. But before you do all this, thorough background research on any offer is a must-do. It will save you big time. For example, do you want to be sucked into some highly-promising sales page that tells you nothing, cough up the money and find out it is some third party Herbalife or ‘how to lose your friends’ Amway plan? Forget it!

I wonder how they sleep at night? I feel relaxed knowing I am not promoting someone’s affiliate marketing plan for its own sake as it seems every man and his beast is doing this sort of thing and it’s making everyone else ‘look baad, okay?’.
“Hi, what do you do?”
- “Oh, I’m an Internet Marketer.”

Ewww, what would you think? Is this person like a real estate salesman, used car dealer, lawyer or banker? Unfortunately these days more than likely you’ll be meeting a person who might as well say,
“Hi, I’m an Internet Marketer who Internet Markets Internet Marketing stuff to other Internet Marketers who promote affiliate Internet Marketing on Internet Marketing for Internet Marketers and newbies wanting to be Internet Marketers selling stuff to Internet Marketing wallabies, ahem, wannabes.”

See what I mean?

Internet marketers used to be seen as entrepreneurial good guys who can help those like you take advantage of ever-changing technology and the way we shop and make money online. But these days, the image is tarnished as more scammers with resources fill the cloud and consequently turn that cloud brown. Many Internet Marketers who promote themselves and spawn more affiliate robots for the sake of IM world money-making dominance fail to see that the backlash will eventually swallow them whole – and I do indeed hope that the Masters of Evil cashing in on gullibility are held accountable.

Right now, look at what you do, who you help – and who you ignore. You are a mentor, you are offering something tangible that people can benefit from, you are NOT there to simply take their money like so many of them out there do already.

Beware the Internet scam monsters

Imagine all those affiliate robots out there, expounding the same robotic rhetoric, like a bunch of stomping, marching, steaming poo golems with toilet paper shems in their mouths groaning, ‘Sign up with meeee’.

Don’t let these IM guys unleash their affiliate monsters on you!

Knock-knock... "Who's There?" "Whoa.... (stomp-stomp) gim-me your mun-ni..."

Putting the potential oxymoron aside, it’s a nasty future any decent Internet Marketer would want to avoid.

In a recent seminar, I came across a guy struggling to get his advertising out there. He had opened an AdWords account and started to set up an advertisement for his own product. While the ad was ‘paused’, i.e., the campaign had never actually started, he was informed by email the next day that his account was canceled. In fact it was suspended ‘citing repeated violations’. What did this mean?

He sent a couple of emails complaining about the action taken on him by what many see as Big Brother (Google is ‘Evil’) for simply trying to make some money for his product. No explanation was given to him, only a form style email repeating the offenses without the reason.

Now we all know Google has some great stuff out there, so it baffles me why this sort of action has occurred without ‘customer support’ from an entity being paid to advertise. I looked at his product and it seemed pretty innocuous though I am no expert at the varying policies that Google implement into something that may have once been okay to do, but is not now.

The AdWords setup is pretty complicated; one needs to have sufficient copywriting skills and market savvy to have a successful running campaign. It is simply not enough to create an ad and check if the ad is ‘valid’ as it may be valid one day and not the next.

If this happens to you, my advice is to do the following;

Read carefully all the AdWords policies. It is lengthy but worth it!

Watch for news announcements and policy changes (these may appear on a different announcement page).

Write several emails (not just one), explaining what you were doing, or planning to do, your market intent and that you are SORRY. Yes, doing the Google Grovel is a good thing.

I have been informed that many can restore their accounts if they send enough emails genuinely admitting that they may have made an innocent mistake or are new to the system. Often five emails will do the trick (‘the magic five’) – but not always.

Others have said how Google gets most of their funding from giant drug companies and other corporate monsters (ahem, referring to ‘big’ players) so small players (even those earning hundreds of thousands of dollars a year are seen as ‘small’ by Google standards) have to be really careful when creating AdWords campaigns.

Three years ago things may have been different and more flexible for AdWords advertisers, but in this increasingly litigious world, things do change and rules do tighten. Still, many make a good living from selling products via AdWords, provided the products are sound and have plenty of keyword relevance.

Finally, there are other ways to promote your products:

Facebook also has Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and this can be uniquely targeted to age groups and so on.

Try an AdWords campaign management company. There are many out there who can create your campaigns for you. Some cost a little more while others have free offer periods to get your toes wet. Be careful though and do thorough background checks on campaign providers before you take the leap. Generally they are professionals who specialize in all the ins and outs of good AdWord policy and can also provide recommended target keywords for your campaigns.

In the mean time, if you have been struck off for bad behavior, email email email! And do it nicely.

How can one guy make millions from setting up a bunch of simple WordPress pages that have very little content, such as a single page, and containing posts that are outdated?

There are a few google sniping web sites that promise a lot and some have suggested to me that they do work, however getting to the information can be a task in itself as these sorts of sites, for some reason, get suspended quite quickly. For example check out http://www.googlesnipersite.org which has been suspended. So what don’t they want us to know?

Well hot off the url presses, George Brown has launched his next incarnation, Google Sniper 2.0, which has a lengthy video on how he makes thousands of dollars from simple WordPress sites.

Let’s see how long it will last before Google kills it!

Well it took some time to recover from this event since each day was pretty well an 8am to 7pm full-on concentrated journey into the possibilities of making a huge sum of money on the Internet. Even though I missed Saturday morning, it was quite a laborious event in that the air conditioning failed in the conference room and refreshments were light. Staying overnight at the Novotel helped a lot. Being some distance from the venue, I wanted to be comfortable and refreshed, so we hired a limo there and back after the event and that made big difference.

World Internet Summit speakers' hype and glory was infectious.

An audience of some 500 people persisted in the stifling air to take down notes from Chris Cobb, Raymond Aaron, Matt & Amanda Clarkson, Carolyne McCourtie and Tom Hua.

And yes, some $39,000 or so was awarded to one lucky attendee.

Topics covered

CPA networking, how to get more than 100% return on a product,

Automated eBay, niche items and focused, hungry markets,

Offline strategies covering testimonials, consultancy and helping local businesses increase exposure,

Wholesaling e-books, reseller-licenses and promoting your own product, and

Viral marketing.

I’ll cover some of these in future posts (after a much-needed holiday away) and will post a video link to the World Internet Summit.

The Quest for your Dollar

At the end of each seminar, speakers would do the usual value-added presentation and cut that price down, in steps, for a program or training material to an emotionally-adjustable acceptance. What I mean is, had one been presented with the final ‘low’ price first one would still think it’s an expensive product. Ah, the power of persuasive Dutch auctioning of information products given high initial value.

All the speakers asked for money this way.

The top programs that do work are often not what you expect in which case there is massive potential such as Carolyne McCourtie's method to acquire local clients for big money.

The final big solution to making money was in the speech itself

That’s right, while guest speaker information packages averaged around $4,000, Brett McFall delivered the final ultimatum; the real challenge to pluck up one’s courage to be trained and join the speakers’ circuit for a mere $25,000, with a promise to make $250,000 per year.

"For $25,000 I can teach you to speak like me and make $250,000!"

Yes it’s true; great wads of income can be generated by purely speaking of one’s success -but that success must first be proof of one’s authority to do such seminars.

Despite the critics out there, the World Internet Summit is a success story in itself and a powerhouse of money-making opportunities for those who would never think they could get anywhere within the constraints and expectations of our society. And that’s they key; courage to break from the seemingly rational logic (apologies for the tautology) that to succeed one must work for a boss or a business model that’s a time vampire, bust a gut in property or slave away for someone else’s ideal.

The formulas presented for achieving success may seem a little dry to some, but one can add his or her originality as the business picks up. Dick Smith (Australian electronics entrepreneur) used to say ‘Copy the success of others…’. I add to that by saying, “…having succeeded, you can then afford to be original.”

All one needs is a little education and inspiration and despite the critics, the World Internet Summit does provide plenty of free advice you can take home and get up and running within no time.

More money generated today? Don’t know! Not much on the challenge was mentioned today, other than getting another ticket entry for coming in early. May get another ticket tomorrow for coming in early but bad me, I won’t know because I must go to the hairdressers. I am looking like the cat that got kicked by the e-marketer! The venue is a fair distance from my place so we’ll be staying there tomorrow night. Phew -it’s true; Sydney is more spread out than Los Angeles!

Regarding the challenge, I approached Steve Essa to offer him the error message workaround so he can mention this to his audience and generate some sales but he kinda fobbed me off, “Yes yes, we’re dealing with it,” pretty well telling me to go away. Hmm, guess he felt a little embarrassed. Lucky for me I get the opportunity to see both sides of an ‘upbeat’ presenter, smiling -and stressed.

Having worked in the software development field at an engineering level, I have to stress that testing applications in various browsers and operating systems is crucial, otherwise a particular section of the buying public will feel neglected.

Today’s Speakers

Speakers included Roy Carter, Brittany Lynch, Vince Tan and Chris Howard.

Roy Carter offered some sweet tips on generating sales by promoting other people’s e-books that one has modified, and complementing it with articles that then pad out the acquired e-book. He offers a PLR Mentoring program. PLR is Private Label Rights – not to be confused with Public Lending Right (in this case I get a library payment for the books I had published, every year). At a heavily discounted price of $4,000 -okay $3,997, he will one-on-one mentor you to financial success online. I’ll talk more about this in a future post.

Brittany Lynch is an ex-Google employee who has used the power of Adwords and Facebook to make $40,000 dollars per month. She showed some neat ways to advertise via Facebook. Yes there is an investment in the ads but the returns are worth it for the right product. She shows you how to pick that product and how to promote it. Again, her training program will set you back several hundred dollars with a promise to ‘almost guarantee’ success. I probably would have chosen the words, ‘practically guarantee’.

Vince Tan was next up and he’s my kinda dude -the geek who broke from the cubicle to make megabux by creating and launching e-book products, thoroughly researched by validating the marketplace in one’s personal interest areas via keywords. The annoying moment came when he sold one DVD to someone in the audience, then gave away another DVD to someone else (worth $40.00) and then told the audience that there were free DVDs up the back to which a stampede occurred -the herds soon finding out that there were no DVDs remaining. Talk about mass drivers!

Next up, Chris Howard. He’s a motivational speaker from the Academy of Wealth. There was a period where the lights went low, we were told to close our eyes and then feel the universe and our own presence down to the gluons and quarks, and then asked to give each other a hug. It was kinda moving, only because for me my thoughts drifted to my late husband. Such stuff can make or break a person and I almost fainted due to hyperventilating as per his deep breathing instructions (I also suffer from asthma). There was an element of hypnosis, the positive subconscious thinking kind. Well, whatever floats your boat -and yes this stuff works well for many, particularly the American market. Still, a couple of e-book ideas floated into my head and that was a good thing.

Shopping Carts

Finally, getting back to worldinternetoffice.com, I had a quick look at their home page and the thing that struck me was their shopping cart system. Yes you have to pay for it but there is an introductory low price period. Some of the cart systems out there are quite expensive.

With all the talk of ClickBank, cheap web page builders and carts, no one so far has mentioned WordPress. Yes you can add a shopping cart to your WordPress page. Your sites don’t have to have that tacky look (which frankly puts some potential purchasers off) and the cart I use is free. It’s called eshop and it’s really easy to set up. Have a look at one I’ve set up, paperplanebooks.com. There are others too, like wp-ecommerce, plus entire WordPress themes catered for e-commerce, such as Crafty Cart.

You don’t have to rely on someone else’s clunky software!

I’m guessing that if WordPress is not mentioned in this weekend’s event, then domain stuff won’t be explained in any detail either. There’s a lot one should know about domains, using CPanel and so on. I’ll show you in a future post (yawn) -it’s late; time for my booty sleep.

So what’s the big deal? Today started off with a Web basics 101 day which I almost didn’t go to, thinking I knew a fair bit already. A lot of Internet basics were explained, along with a lot of motivational stuff, cheering, hugging and that sort of snuggly warmly stuff. It does help to some degree, depending on how receptive you are to that sort of thing.

As for the basic web stuff, one thing for sure is that the Internet is constantly changing. A few useful links were provided, such as http://fiverr.com (you pick someone to do some work for you for the princely sum of $5.00 per task) and http://tinyurl.com which basically lets you shorten your affiliate link urls (some can be quote long). It’s a free service – Cool.

I am not sure about the ethics of using low-paid experts in other countries to do one’s web building, product or whatever that will make someone else megabux. Perhaps a service allowing one to pay more money if he or she wants to, for what one sees as value in the results one gets could be a good thing.

The Internet Challenge

Today’s clincher was launching the Great Internet Challenge in which a product is promoted and sales are awarded to one lucky participant in the audience.

The new product disclosed was authoritybacklinkpro by Steve Essa. The product is a downloadable software utility that generates backlinks from high-ranking sites to yours, thus elevating your own site rankings. It works off ‘trusted’ sites, that being urls with .gov and .edu. Such sites typically have a higher Google page ranking.

So, being an evaluator of all things software and the like, I purchased the product (my friend chipped in with half payment). I don’t mind putting the affiliate url here for backlinkpro – in this case moneys earned don’t go to Steve Essa this weekend; they will go in the form of a check payment to an attendee in the audience -and that is a good thing.

One annoying thing is that after you purchase the product you are then goaded to purchase a backlink sniper product. Of course you have the option not to purchase.

Another annoying thing is (after an audience member went onto the stage to purchase her product on a Mac laptop), some errors showed after the purchase was complete. This did not affect the purchase, but was an ASPX error that occurs often when sites are done in Windows without much thought to code cleanliness and crossplatform compatibility. So boys; clean up your act and think about Macs!

When I tried to get the affiliate link instead I got a set of three PHP server errors! Incidentally, the error shows on both Windows and Mac.

Authority Backlink Pro PHP server purchase error

The workaround is to go to your email, click the link to the affiliate page and fill in the ‘forgot password’ edit box, which is then sent to you.

The product itself I am told by others is pretty good and probably worth the investment, but there are other similar products out there, so have a look around first.

Still, if one signs up to be an affiliate for this product, a high commission is returned and you get some money back if someone purchases through your affiliate link.

Now Steve Essa has made hundreds of thousands of dollars doing sites like this, each for literally a $2500 investment in creating a sales page, graphics, copy and of course a product (but you can do it via WordPress for next to nothing, and make it nicer looking -more on that in a future post). The affiliate stuff fuels the affiliate ‘pyramid’, as some say, in perpetuam -well for the foreseeable future anyway, as there is plenty of bandwidth for this kind of product and selling style.

Hats off to him – he made it -and he’s showing us how to do it. But remember, the audience in this event; me, you, us, all help him achieve his goal -and that’s what it’s all about; people linking and sharing, buying and advocating, and helping each other make money.

Are you interested in attending the Sydney World Internet Summit? Tickets usually cost $197 for the four day event but here’s a back-door way to get your ticket for free;

Normally you would visit http://www.worldinternetsummit.com.

Instead, click this link, http://www.worldinternetsummit.com/activate.

I don’t know how much longer that link will be up so give it a go now. I know it’s a little late notice and apologies for this, but trying this method in the future may be useful for seminars run by these people. You will be taken to a sales page with ‘$0.00′ to pay. You can then print your ticket. Neat!

What’s so good about this summit? Well I attended one of these a couple of years ago and got a lot of free useful information on making money on the Internet. Sure the guy there, Brett McFall will want to sell you his stuff (and we have his ‘Make Money While You Sleep’ book) but you are not obliged to buy anything.

Remember; if they push you to buy, be a little suspicious. If you see great herds buying product then it’s a very well-organized event (in more ways than one) -and yes, be a little more suspicious (call it the old distrust in me at being burned in the past)). Having said that, stuff you buy will be packed with useful information, but only if you apply it and not leave it on the
shelf. Their products seem to point out useful information concisely instead of padding out with useless information.

And remember too that what they sell will only be as effective with your own special input and slant on things, such as your own niche interests.

Brett’s not the only guy there, others include Tom Hua, Chris Cobb from the UK, Mili Ponce from Peru and Paul O’Mahoney from Ireland -all hugely successful Internet entrepreneurs.

Subjects indicated in their sales flier include:

How to use Facebook and Twitter to create regular, automated income,

Low cost ways to get more traffic to your sites,

How to start your own Internet business in just a few minutes, and

How to make money using eBay, from your blogs and more.

The biggest deal here is they intend to start an Internet business from scratch, and hope to make many thousands of dollars over the weekend. Impossible? Well they promise to pay one lucky attendee that amount in prize money.

So if you can make it, expect to garner a lot of free useful stuff -and bring your iPad/note taker with you.

I’ll be heading there tomorrow; will let you know what happens.

Karin
